Yesterday I got my wisdom teeth out, so I wasn’t super mobile mentally or physically today.
(By the way, conscious sedation is really spectacular. It blows my mind that you can be given chemicals that numb you up and keep you conscious, but you don’t remember anything. Weird.)
So, today I was obviously super productive. I watched Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, read a Star Wars comic book called Shattered Empire that takes place immediately after Episode VI, and watched Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens.
Like I said, productivity to the max.
Lately, I’ve been on a Tim Ferriss kick. Ferriss is an entrepreneur, author, and self-proclaimed “human guinea pig” who is obsessed with learning. I discovered his show, The Tim Ferriss Experiment and I found it really interesting.
I watched an episode where Ferriss learned to play poker like a champion and was amazed by how quickly and efficiently he could pick up a complex game he had never played before.
(Quick disclaimer: I do not condone playing poker. You’ll lose your money and then your wife will leave you and take your kids and your house will be repossessed and you will end up living on the streets. Don’t play poker, do learn about learning from Tim Ferriss’ experiment.)
I am fascinated by storytelling—books, radio dramas, audio books, movies, you name it. I am especially enthralled by effective visual storytelling and have always been interested in how movies are made.
I have learned more about filmmaking through video essays on YouTube. (A visual medium explaining visual storytelling. See how these would appeal to me?)
Yeah, so I didn’t get any coding done today, but I’ll be back at it on Tuesday.
